If you play a Retri or Protection Paladin, depending on situation, you sometimes have to use Crusader Strike or Hammer of the Righteous. Both abilities grant a Holy Power Charge, both consume about the same amount of mana, and have the almost the same cooldown also sharing it. But Crusader Strike deals a higher, single-target amount of damage, while Hammer of the Righteous deals AoE damage and applies a debuff on the target.

hammer crusader macro

Therefore, you can put both abilities in one single button with a modifier. This macro will cast Crusader Strike if you hit the button normally, and cast Hammer of the Righteous if you hold down ALT while you hit the macro key.

Macro code:

/cast [mod:alt] Hammer of the Righteous; Crusader Strike

Required class – Paladin

Required specs – Retribution or Protection

In case you play Retribution, you should leave the macro as it is here, because you will probably be using Crusader Strike more often. However, if you play Protection, swap the abilities in the macro code between them, because you will probably use Hammer of the Righteous more often.

This is a very useful macro because you will lock 2 highly used damaging abilities under the same key, in your main 1,2,3,4,5,6 keybinding.
