Clarity of Power adds 40% damage to Mind Blast, Mind Spike and Shadow Word: Death, if the target is not affected by Shadow Word: Pain or Vampiric Touch. It also makes Mind Blast instant, therefore offering the chance to play your Priest using your direct damage spells, rather than relying a lot on your DoTs. And playing like this, can be done quite easily by using a GS macro involving the aforementioned spells.

So, here’s the macro:

Clarity of Power GS Macro

Clarity of Power GS Macro - Notepad Code

Macro code:

Sequences['SP-COP-01'] = {
PreMacro = [[
/run UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
/cast [noform] !Shadowform
]],
[[/cast Shadow Word: Death]],
[[/cast Devouring Plague]],
[[/cast Mind Blast]],
[[/cast Mind Spike]],
[[/cast Mind Spike]],
[[/cast Mind spike]],
[[/cast Mind blast]],
[[/cast Cascade]],
PostMacro = [[
/use [combat] 13
]],
}

Restrictions:

Required class – Priest
Required spec – Shadow
Required talents – Cascade, Clarity of Power
Required addons – GnomeSequencer

Tips:

The Cascade and Clarity of Power are required for this Priest macro, and overall, this macro works best with this talent build: 2,1,2,2,3,1,1

You can add Mindbender to the macro if you want, after Cascade. But I’d say it’s best to be left on a separate key.

Even though you will deal 40% more damage with Mind Blast and Mind Spike via Clarity of Power, if you have no DOTs on the target, it’s still a good idea to cast Shadow Word: Pain from time to time, for more orbs (generated via the talent Shadowy Insight – it’s 5% chance, but still…). You can even introduce Shadow Word: Pain in the macro if you want, as it will be consumed by your Mind Spikes. But this way you will nerf your damage quite a bit. So, if you need Orbs, cast 1-2 Shadow Word: Pain spells, until you get them.

In case you’re going to test this macro on a training dummy, it won’t trigger Shadow Word: Death, as this spell requires a target under 25% HP.

Also, Devouring Plague won’t be cast until you get 3 Shadow Orbs.
